Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes in condition
• Perform thorough assessments and develop timely nursing interventions to support recovery
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following protocols and physician orders
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate critical information during handoffs
• Respond effectively to emergencies and contribute to unit-based quality and safety initiatives
• Complete required specialty competencies and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed by the facility
• Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing with Telemetry monitoring skills
• Successful completion of license/certificate verification and required competency testing
• Willingness to complete health requirements: Fit Test, drug screen, immunizations (Tdap, COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella), and TB screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to perform under pressure in acute care settings
