Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients, managing complex and acute needs
• Perform and support procedures such as central line and arterial line placement and assist with intubations
• Manage and care for patients with EVDs and other advanced neuro-oncology equipment in collaboration with core staff
• Accurately document patient care and treatments using the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized patient care plans
• Monitor patient status and respond quickly to changes to maintain safe 2:1 patient ratios
• Support unit operations by floating to other ICUs, BMT, and PCU floors when needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU/critical care nursing experience
• Experience with central line/A-line procedures, intubation, and critical care equipment preferred
• Meditech EMR experience is a plus
• Comfort working in neuro/oncology populations and caring for EVD patients is desirable
• Team-player attitude, accountability, and a caring approach to patient and family interactions

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care and ICU nursing knowledge
• Familiarity with central line and arterial line management
• Airway management and intubation support skills
• Experience caring for patients with external ventricular drains (EVDs)
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to floating assignments
• Comfort managing a 2:1 patient ratio in a fast-paced environment
