Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory assessment, treatment and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies
• Manage invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation (Servo, Hamilton, Astral) to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform ABG collection and interpretation to guide clinical decision-making
• Set up and manage CPAP/BiPAP therapy and titrate settings appropriately
• Administer nebulizer therapies and deliver chest physiotherapy (CPT) as clinically indicated
• Document all care thoroughly and accurately in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Respond to rapid responses and code situations with clinical competence and calm
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Current BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital RRT experience
• Experience with Meditech EMR is preferred by the director
• Trauma experience preferred
• Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator troubleshooting
• ABG analysis and interpretation
• CPAP/BiPAP setup and management
• Nebulizer therapy administration and airway clearance techniques
• Chest physiotherapy techniques (CPT)
• Meditech EMR documentation
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork and effective communication
