Roles & Responsibilities

• Stabilize and manage neonatal airways and ventilation during transport, including mask ventilation and securing advanced airways
• Operate and manage transport ventilators and conventional/HFOV/CPAP/NIV/HFNC modes safely in transit
• Monitor and support neonates for thermoregulation, hemodynamics, and early signs of deterioration
• Perform point-of-care testing (ABG/CBG, glucose) and document assessments and interventions accurately
• Coordinate efficient handoffs and communicate clearly with sending and receiving teams and EMS partners
• Troubleshoot isolette systems, equipment restraints, power sources, and oxygen supply during transports
• Participate in infection control practices and crisis management for equipment or respiratory emergencies

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years NICU transport experience (required)
• RRT or CRT (required)
• NRP and PALS (required)
• STABLE certification preferred
• Annual transport competencies as required by the unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal airway and ventilation expertise including ventilator management
• Transport physiology knowledge (effects of motion, vibration, altitude, temperature)
• Experience with transport ventilators, isolette systems, and oxygen management
• Equipment troubleshooting and safe operation during ground/air transport
• Strong patient assessment, documentation, and point-of-care testing skills
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for multi-team handoffs
• Infection control and safety protocol adherence during transport
