Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care and therapies for NICU/PICU patients using advanced technologies
• Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator adjustments for neonatal and pediatric patients
• Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment such as 3100A, Bunnell, Servo ventilators, high flow devices, Nitric Oxide and Heliox systems
• Deliver aerosolized therapies including continuous nebulizers and routine nebulizer treatments
• Document patient assessments and treatments accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Perform patient monitoring, assessments, and timely interventions for respiratory compromise
• Support unit staffing needs and float to adult floors for nebulizer therapy, BiPAP, chest physiotherapy, and related duties when required

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Current NICU/PICU experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable documenting in Meditech preferred by the director
• Team-player attitude, critical thinking skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical ventilation strategies and neonatal/pediatric ventilation
• Experience with high flow devices and advanced respiratory modalities
• Familiarity with 3100A and Bunnell oscillators, Servo ventilators
• Proficient with continuous nebulizers, nitric oxide, and heliox therapy
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting (Meditech experience a plus)
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to prioritize patient safety and deliver family-centered care in NICU/PICU settings
