Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation for neonates, including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation to optimize respiratory outcomes
• Administer surfactant therapy safely and monitor effectiveness
• Obtain and interpret neonatal blood gases to guide treatment decisions
• Administer and manage inhaled nitric oxide therapy when indicated
• Attend and support high-risk deliveries as an essential neonatal resuscitation team member
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech and NeoNotes
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary NICU team to deliver family-centered care

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Level 3 NICU experience required (posting lists 1 year experience; unit prefers Level 3 NICU background)
• STABLE certification preferred (nice-to-have)
• Comfortable with Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A oscillators, Mallinckrodt Nitric Oxide and Vapotherms
• Ability to think critically, work independently, and maintain a positive, detail-oriented approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management for neonates, including HFOV
• Surfactant administration and neonatal respiratory therapies
• Blood gas acquisition and interpretation
• Nitric oxide administration and monitoring
• Neonatal resuscitation and attending high-risk deliveries
• Proficiency with Meditech and NeoNotes EMR systems
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork in a high-acuity NICU
