Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
• Assess patient condition, monitor vitals, and intervene promptly when changes occur
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following pediatric dosing and protocols
• Educate families and caregivers with clear, supportive communication during stressful times
• Document care accurately and timely in the medical record to ensure continuity
• Participate in orientation, unit-based learning, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact license holder as applicable
• Experience or strong interest in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) encouraged
• Clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to perform in high-acuity situations
• Excellent interpersonal skills to partner with families and the care team
• Willingness to participate in unit orientation and ongoing competency training

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and practices
• Skill with assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, and pediatric dosing
• Strong communication and family-centered care approach
• Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
