Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough Admission Assessments for direct admits, ensuring a smooth transition from the ED
• Complete Medication Reconciliation promptly and accurately to promote patient safety
• Initiate acute care orders and collaborate with the care team to reduce length of stay
• Monitor telemetry patients closely and act on changes to maintain high-quality care
• Document care clearly and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity and compliance
• Support ED decompression and throughput by receiving and managing admitted patients
• Float to other units within your skill set when needed, contributing to flexible staffing
• Uphold patient safety and excellent patient/family experience at every touchpoint

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state authorization to practice required)
• Minimum 2 years recent MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and initiating acute care orders
• Comfortable with Cerner documentation and Baxter IV pumps
• Charge Nurse experience preferred or willingness to step into that role
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, quick-turnover clinical decision/direct admit unit

• Cerner electronic documentation proficiency
• Use of Baxter IV pumps and common bedside equipment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and ED throughput awareness
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a rapid-turnover environment
