Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to outpatient cardiology patients following established standards and best practices
• Assist providers and clinic staff with patient care coordination to ensure seamless patient experiences
• Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff and providers, communicating clearly and compassionately
• Perform cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation support; recognize and respond to arrhythmias
• Administer and manage cardiac medications and therapies per protocols and provider direction
• Support clinical managers, coordinators and providers by following directions and contributing to quality initiatives
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications and follow-up care to promote positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Active MT Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
• At least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable with cardiac medications, EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition
• Basic office and keyboarding skills for charting and patient communications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN)

Knowledge & Skills

• EKG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmias
• Knowledge of cardiac medications and coronary care procedures
• Medical terminology and basic nursing principles
• Patient care coordination and strong communication skills
• Basic office skills and keyboarding for electronic documentation
