Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room for a Level 1 trauma center
• Provide skilled scrub and circulating support during a broad range of surgical procedures
• Respond promptly and effectively to trauma activations and on-call situations
• Maintain sterile technique, accurate documentation, and meticulous patient handovers
• Demonstrate and maintain a high skills checklist rating and participate in competency validation
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Support weekend and holiday coverage and help mentor less-experienced staff when needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to obtain Georgia licensure or hold compact license preferred)
• Operating Room nursing experience with demonstrated competency in perioperative care
• Level 1 trauma experience required — comfortable in high-acuity, fast-paced situations
• Previous travel nurse experience required (you know the rhythm of travel assignments)
• High rating on skills checklist required — proof of strong clinical skills and technical ability
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and participate in call coverage
• Burn experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of OR procedures, sterile technique, and infection control
• Familiarity with level 1 trauma protocols and rapid response workflows
• Ability to perform under pressure with excellent situational awareness
• Competence in perioperative patient assessment, instrumentation, and supplies management
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary environments
• Adaptability to varied case mixes and flexibility for schedule changes
