Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room for patients across a broad range of surgical specialties
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to ensure safe, efficient operative care
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, assist with complex procedures including robotics and specialty cases
• Accurately document patient care and perioperative events using Cerner
• Maintain patient safety and advocate for patient needs throughout the perioperative experience
• Float to other departments as needed and respond to variable scheduling and on-call requirements

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (able to practice in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (OR/perioperative experience preferred)
• Demonstrated perioperative/Operating Room skills and broad surgical knowledge across general, GYN, robotics, neuro, ortho, plastics, urology, burn and trauma
• Comfortable with Cerner documentation and electronic charting
• Willingness to work variable schedules and be available for call; ability to float to other units
• Certifications such as BLS required by facility; additional perioperative or specialty certifications are a plus

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ADN/BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing and scrub/ circulating skills
• Experience across multiple surgical specialties including robotics and trauma
• Proficient with Cerner and perioperative documentation systems
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm in high-acuity OR situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with surgical teams and support staff
• Familiarity with sterile technique, instrumentation, and intraoperative safety protocols
