Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate bedside nursing care to medical-surgical patients with professionalism and heart
Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
Administer medications, treatments and IV therapy safely and accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create patient-centered care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
Respond promptly to patient needs and emergent situations with calm and competence
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit performance

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility for licensure
Clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing (preferred)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS a plus
Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient care standards
Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
Familiarity with patient charting and electronic health records
Skilled in patient education, discharge planning and care coordination
Ability to prioritize, multitask and maintain clinical accuracy under pressure
