Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a busy Med/Surg unit
• Assess, monitor and document patient status, recognizing changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Perform skilled nursing procedures including IV therapy and wound care as required
• Adhere to infection control standards and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
• Respond effectively to urgent situations and participate in unit-based quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license (ability to practice in Hawaii required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Comfort working 12.5-hour shifts in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and credentialing checks
• Strong communication, clinical judgment and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and standards
• Proficiency with patient assessment, medication administration and IV management
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks in a dynamic environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills for working with patients, families and staff
• Basic emergency response and situational awareness
