Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients with attention to safety and dignity
• Perform thorough assessments, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility protocols
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families to support recovery, self-care, and successful discharge
• Participate in orientation and training to maintain high standards of clinical practice

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications welcomed
• Clinical experience or strong interest in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Comfortable with medication administration, patient assessments, and basic inpatient procedures
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a care team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Diploma in Nursing; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and patient assessment
• Familiarity with common inpatient medication administration and IV therapy
• Charting and documentation best practices (electronic health record experience a plus)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a dynamic patient load
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong patient/family education skills
