Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the LTC QAPI program: design, implement, and evaluate quality initiatives that improve resident care
• Coordinate and prepare the facility for regulatory surveys and continuous accreditation readiness
• Perform chart audits, data analysis, and clinical reviews to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Facilitate infection control practices and support facility-wide safety and compliance efforts
• Collaborate with administrators, providers, and frontline staff to drive quality improvement projects and education
• Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and manage facility reported incidents and Datix events, supporting investigations and corrective actions
• Organize and lead quality committee meetings; maintain minutes, tracking systems, and follow-up plans
• Develop and revise policies, procedures, and facility-wide assessments to align with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the State of Alaska (active prior to start)
• CPHQ or QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) or another long-term care quality certification obtained within the last 3 years
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) or equivalent clinical competency documentation
• At least 2 years’ experience monitoring quality and regulatory requirements, planning and coordinating process changes
• Proven leadership experience facilitating cross-functional teams and driving improvement efforts
• Comfortable with at least 30% travel as part of the role

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of QAPI, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance for long-term care
• Experience with chart review, data analytics, and translating data into action
• Familiarity with accreditation requirements across LTC and broader healthcare settings
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present findings and coach staff
• Skilled in policy/procedure writing, survey participation, and accreditation readiness
• Hands-on experience with incident reporting systems (e.g., Datix) and RCA methodology
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
