Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care for labor, delivery, postpartum and antepartum patients
• Continuously monitor fetal status with EFM and respond promptly to changes
• Assist and support vaginal and C-section deliveries as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Perform thorough nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation for each patient
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR (CPN, Meditech)
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians, CNAs, CSTs and support staff
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery and postpartum recovery

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in state of practice (or compact RN where applicable)
• Minimum 1+ years of current acute care hospital Labor & Delivery experience
• Current BLS; ACLS and NRP required or current per unit policy
• AWHONN or EFM certification preferred/required as listed
• Comfortable using EMRs such as CPN and Meditech and FHR monitors (Novii, GE)
• Ability to work collaboratively, stay calm under pressure, and provide compassionate patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery nursing and fetal monitoring (EFM, FHR monitors, FSE)
• Vaginal and C-section delivery care and perioperative support
• Nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Experience with EMR systems (CPN, Meditech) and clinical documentation
• Familiarity with Mom/Baby care, pediatrics and NICU concepts is a plus
