Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients on L&D
• Perform and interpret fetal monitoring (EFM) to ensure fetal well-being and escalate concerns promptly
• Assist and support vaginal and C-section deliveries, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Manage care for high-risk OB patients in collaboration with OB providers and the multidisciplinary team
• Accurately document care in the EMR (Meditech) and communicate clear handoffs between shifts
• Maintain required certifications and participate in unit-based protocols and emergency responses
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment by mentoring colleagues and supporting unit workflows

Qualifications

• Current RN license (must be eligible to practice in Colorado)
• Minimum 1 year current acute care RN experience (labor & delivery experience strongly preferred)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; AWHONN or EFM certification required or highly desired
• Comfortable with high-risk OB situations and a variety of procedures (vaginal, C-section, cerclage, versions)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and function well in a fast-paced team environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor & Delivery nursing best practices and fetal monitoring (EFM)
• Vaginal and C-section delivery support and postpartum care
• High-risk obstetric care knowledge
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and experience with Centricity/GE monitors
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and team communication skills
• Ability to manage patient ratios typical to L&D (e.g., 1:2 on L&D, variable in triage/antepartum)
