Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to adult ICU patients with attention to detail and heart
• Continuously monitor and assess patient condition, intervening quickly when changes occur
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and titratable drips safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff — to coordinate plan of care
• Interpret cardiac rhythms, manage ventilators, and support advanced life support measures as needed
• Document clinical care and patient responses clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plans, and discharge needs in a compassionate way

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred
• Current experience in a critical care/ICU setting; prior ICU experience preferred
• Comfort with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in high-stress situations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Critical care assessment and prioritization

• Ventilator basics and respiratory management
• IV medication administration and infusion pump proficiency
• Accurate clinical documentation and delegation
• Teamwork, clinical judgment, and crisis resource management
