Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients with expert clinical judgment
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status, interpreting complex data and acting promptly
• Administer medications and manage advanced therapies (ventilators, vasoactive drips) safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families with clarity, compassion, and cultural sensitivity
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to improve outcomes
• Support transfer/discharge planning and communicate effectively across shifts and teams

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (able to practice in Hawaii) — required
• Critical care/ICU experience and comfort with high-acuity patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification — preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to prioritize in fast-paced situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work closely with physicians and multidisciplinary staff

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in critical care monitoring and interpretation of hemodynamic data
• Experience with ventilator management and airway care
• Familiarity with titration and monitoring of vasoactive medications
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line care, and post-procedure monitoring
• Competent documentation practices and comfort using electronic health records
• Ability to mentor peers and contribute to a positive unit culture
