Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced ER setting
• Perform focused physical assessments, initiate treatment, and monitor responses
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Administer medications, start IVs, and manage urgent interventions safely
• Document interventions and patient status clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Respond to critical events and participate in emergency resuscitation as needed

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — California licensure preferred or eligible
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous experience or strong comfort level working in an Emergency Department
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to prioritize, and excellent communication skills
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility health requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Cardiac monitoring and acute care interventions
• Intravenous therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with ED workflows and fast-paced decision making
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and clear clinical documentation
• Team-oriented mindset and effective communication under pressure
