Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Stabilize and manage emergency cases with confidence and clinical skill
• Administer medications and treatments safely following protocols
• Document patient care clearly and efficiently in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and follow-up plans
• Maintain situational awareness and contribute to a calm, organized ER environment

Qualifications

• Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous ER or acute care experience preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and handling high-acuity patients
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Active professional liability insurance as required by facility policies

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment
• IV therapy, medication administration, and basic procedures
• Familiarity with ACLS/BLS protocols and emergency interventions
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) charting
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and time management under pressure
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
