Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and triage patients in the emergency department with confidence and compassion
Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments according to protocols
Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the care team to develop timely care plans
Monitor and document patient status, responding quickly to changes
Provide patient and family education in clear, reassuring language
Participate in handoffs and ensure continuity of care at transitions

Qualifications

Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of California (required)
Previous emergency department experience preferred
Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
Strong assessment skills, ability to work calmly under pressure
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — RN required

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency nursing best practices
Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration, and basic ED procedures
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple critical patients
Patient/family education and discharge planning
