Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid, high-quality triage and emergency nursing care for a busy, high-volume ED
• Monitor cardiac status and manage cardiac monitoring equipment for assigned patients
• Deliver compassionate care to patients across the lifespan while maintaining patient safety
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and techs to coordinate care and throughput
• Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support a culture of continuous improvement
• Manage behavioral hold situations safely while maintaining appropriate patient ratios
• Follow AIDET and other patient experience practices to keep patients and families informed

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with at least 2 years of nursing experience and a minimum of 1 year in an ER setting
• 2 years experience preferred in Level 2 trauma, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits)
• Required certifications before or on hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Comfortable floating to all sections within the ED and working as part of a collaborative team
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, Baxter pumps, and GE monitors a plus
• Previous HCA experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Cardiac monitoring and acute care recognition
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation workflows
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced ED
• Excellent communication, patient experience practices (AIDET), and teamwork skills
• Capability to coach peers and provide constructive feedback in real time
• Comfort managing variable patient ratios, including behavioral holds
