Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages with skill and urgency
• Perform rapid assessment and triage to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Provide family-centered communication and education during stressful moments
• Respond to codes and unstable patients with calm, evidence-based interventions
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain one (Hawaii)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Experience in emergency nursing or a demonstrated ability to work in high-acuity settings
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritize under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment skills for medical, surgical, and trauma presentations
• Familiarity with emergency department workflows and electronic health records
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and acute patient monitoring
• Critical thinking, situational awareness, and effective teamwork
• Ability to de-escalate tense situations and provide patient-centered communication
