Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, high-volume ED
• Perform triage, continuous cardiac monitoring and rapid assessment of emergent patients
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Cerner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow and outcomes
• Coach and give real-time feedback to team members to maintain high standards
• Communicate with patients and families using AIDET and respectful bedside manner
• Adhere to unit policies and required dress code (navy scrubs)

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (state of practice) required
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in the Emergency Department
• Experience in Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center settings preferred
• Comfort working in a high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) and managing typical patient ratios (4:1; up to 7:1 for behavioral holds)
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC completion within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide constructive feedback
• Willingness to float across all sections of the ED

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner documentation and electronic charting
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Triage expertise and rapid clinical decision-making
• Experience with trauma and stroke protocols and interventions
• Excellent patient communication using AIDET and patient experience best practices
• Ability to work effectively in high-volume, multicultural settings
