Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 9-hour shifts; specific start/end times and days not provided (Emergency Department schedule; orientation required)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department
Assess, triage and prioritize patients quickly and accurately
Administer medications, start IVs and perform emergency interventions as needed
Document patient care and clinical findings clearly in the medical record
Collaborate with physicians, techs and the broader care team to coordinate treatment
Participate in orientation and training to maintain unit standards and safety
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or eligibility for licensure
Emergency Department experience preferred
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS encouraged if available
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicating effectively

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Triage and emergency nursing principles
Acute care skills including IV therapy and medication administration
Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and patient advocacy
