Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in the ED with calm, clinical precision
• Perform rapid triage and initial assessments to prioritize patient needs
• Administer medications, start IVs, and carry out treatments as ordered
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and support staff to coordinate timely care
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record
• Respond to codes and acute changes in patient condition with professionalism and urgency
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Previous emergency department experience preferred (new grads with strong ED clinical experience are encouraged to apply)
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment techniques
• IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and procedures
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and accurate documentation
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Teamwork, adaptability, and clear communication under pressure
