Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care for cardiovascular surgery patients with precision and compassion
• Prepare and maintain a sterile CVOR environment, anticipating surgeon needs and instrumentation
• Monitor patient status closely before, during, and after procedures and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure seamless patient flow
• Accurately document interventions, patient status, and procedural details in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on perioperative expectations and post-operative care
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida license preferred)
• Experience in CVOR / Cardiovascular Surgery (job lists 1 year of experience)
• Demonstrated ability to work in an operating room environment and support complex cardiac cases
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS) preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Current immunizations and compliance with facility onboarding requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and surgical procedures
• Proficiency with sterile technique and operating room protocols
• Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Skill with surgical instrumentation and CVOR-specific equipment
• Ability to prioritize, remain calm under pressure, and make timely clinical decisions
