Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate critical care to CVICU patients, managing complex cardiothoracic and hemodynamic needs
• Manage mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy care to support optimal respiratory outcomes
• Titrate vasoactive and vesicant medications safely and accurately while monitoring hemodynamics
• Interpret telemetry, arterial lines and PA catheter data to guide bedside interventions
• Assist with and support unit procedures such as cardioversion, central line placement, chest tube maintenance, bronchoscopy and pericardiocentesis
• Document patient care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Serve as a reliable unit RN in a staffing model without HUC/PCT support, demonstrating autonomy and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-appropriate) to practice as a travel nurse
• 2+ years of recent critical care / CVICU or high-acuity ICU experience required
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical ventilation, tracheostomy care, telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
• Comfortable titrating vesicant medications and managing pressors, sedation and paralytics
• Experience with PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Cerner documentation experience preferred
• CCRN recommended but not required
• Willingness to float across areas as needed for traveler assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care / ICU nursing best practices
• Mechanical ventilation management and trach care
• Telemetry interpretation and advanced cardiac monitoring
• Hemodynamic assessment and PA catheter interpretation
• Vasoactive medication and vesicant titration
• Familiarity with IABP, Impella and CRRT (desired)
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic documentation
• Skills supporting bedside cardiac procedures (cardioversion, transvenous pacing, chest tube care)
