Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and patient care areas so each case runs safely and smoothly
• Review patient charts and ensure consents, labs and documentation are complete prior to procedures
• Perform thorough pre- and post-procedural assessments and monitoring, communicating abnormalities immediately
• Administer procedural sedation and manage patient hemodynamics according to policy
• Circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, EP, structural heart and neuro-interventional procedures
• Accurately document procedures and handoffs in real time using MacLab/CardioLab and electronic health records
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including fluoroscopy and intra-cardiac ultrasound
• Support a safe, therapeutic patient environment and participate in time-out/Full Stop safety checks
• Precept new staff and pursue ongoing professional development to maintain specialty competence
• Perform other duties within scope of practice to support the lab team and patient care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in accordance with state requirements
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Required experience: Cath Lab or ICU/CVICU/IMC experience preferred; new grads and med/surg-only experience are not being considered
• Demonstrated ability to independently circulate and assist in Cardiovascular and EP procedures
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and variable shift lengths
• Strong documentation skills in MacLab/CardioLab or similar procedural documentation systems

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred (or obtain within 36 months of hire)
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma acceptable if Bachelor's will be completed within required timeframe

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring in pre/post procedural settings
• Hemodynamics and procedural sedation management
• Fluoroscopy proficiency and sterile procedural assistance
• Cardiac catheterization and EP/device procedure support (ICD/pacemaker, ablations)
• Experience with structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO) and interventional neurology (carotid stenting, thrombectomy, coiling)
• Intra-cardiac ultrasound and familiarity with 3D mapping systems
• Accurate, real-time documentation in MacLab/CardioLab systems
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary lab teams
