Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support residents with mobility, transfers, and safe use of assistive devices
• Assist with meal setup and feeding, and document intake as required
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff and supervisors
• Promote a safe, clean, and respectful living environment
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interaction to support emotional well-being
• Accurately complete required documentation and care notes in a timely manner
• Work collaboratively with the care team and families to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• PCA certification (required or preferred depending on facility policy)
• Previous experience as a Personal Care Attendant or direct caregiver preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of PCA training program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic personal care techniques and safe transfer methods
• Familiarity with documentation and charting of resident care
• Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Time management and prioritization to meet resident needs effectively
