Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and warmly, taking accurate histories and recording medications/allergies
• Obtain and document vital signs, height/weight, pulse oximetry and vision/hearing screenings
• Perform specimen collection and point-of-care testing (urine, pregnancy, strep, blood glucose) with proper labeling
• Administer injections and immunizations (intradermal and intramuscular) following protocols
• Prepare exam rooms and set up/assist with procedures such as biopsies, pap smears and nebulizer treatments
• Perform 12-lead EKGs and assist with basic diagnostic tasks
• Manage charting in EPIC promptly and accurately to support excellent patient care
• Handle telephone triage, refill requests and follow-up calls with professionalism
• Support office flow through scheduling, stocking supplies and interdisciplinary coordination

Qualifications

• Minimum: 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant (Adult Outpatient required; Family Medicine/OB preferred)
• CMA certification preferred; BLS required/preferred
• Comfortable giving injections and immunizations (intradermal & intramuscular)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting (required)
• Local candidates only — within a 50-mile radius (temp-to-perm expectation applies)
• Candidates MUST provide a statement at time of submittal confirming they are open to temp-to-hire
• First-time MA’s are welcome — if you’re eager to learn, we want you

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong EPIC/charting skills and attention to documentation detail
• Vital signs, point-of-care testing and specimen collection expertise
• Experience with injections, immunizations and medication administration
• Basic EKG/12-lead setup and interpretation familiarity
• Phone triage, scheduling, and patient communication skills
• Procedure assistance (biopsy, pap smear), phlebotomy support and clinic workflow
• Ability to work in a fast-paced primary care clinic and adapt to floating as needed
