Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate overnight nursing care to residents/patients, ensuring safety and dignity
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with facility policies
• Monitor, assess and document patient condition and communicate changes to the care team
• Support admissions, discharges and transfers with thorough handoffs and accurate documentation
• Collaborate with RNs, providers and support staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies and escalate per protocol
• Maintain infection-control standards, clean environment practices and accurate charting

Qualifications

• Current, active LPN license (practical/vocational nurse) in Alabama
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) a plus
• Comfortable working overnight/night shift hours and providing hands-on patient care
• Strong communication, charting and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care preferred but not required

Education

• LPN: Practical Nursing diploma or certificate from an accredited program
• RN option (where applicable): Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Fundamental patient assessment and vital-sign interpretation
• Care planning, basic wound care and toileting/ADL assistance
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and routine charting
• Infection prevention, safe patient handling and fall prevention strategies
• Ability to triage concerns and escalate to the RN or provider appropriately
