Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents — your work makes their day better
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding
Safely support mobility, transfers, and fall-prevention measures
Take and record vital signs and observe changes in resident condition
Communicate clearly with nurses and the care team about resident needs and concerns
Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies for resident care
Support a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control practices

Qualifications

Required: Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification (job class indicated as GNA)
Current state-required credentials and ability to work in Maryland
Comfortable working with older adults and demonstrating patience and respect
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a care team
Preferred: prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings
Preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification (if available)

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
Familiarity with geriatric needs and dementia-aware practices
Safe transfer techniques and mobility support
Infection control and hygiene best practices
Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
