Location: Baltimore, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, night shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Support residents with mobility, toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene while preserving dignity
Monitor resident condition, take basic vital signs, and report changes promptly to nursing staff
Document care accurately and timely in resident records to ensure continuity
Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to deliver personalized care plans
Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies to maintain a safe environment

Qualifications

Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — required
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings (e.g., TB)
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus
Reliable, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with residents and team members

Education

High School Diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
Basic vital signs measurement and observational skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide patient-centered care
Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks during a shift
Teamwork mindset and effective communication with interdisciplinary staff
