Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care in an acute care environment
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor and record patient vital signs and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers and positioning while following proper body mechanics
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and adhere to facility policies and infection control
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other caregivers to deliver coordinated care
• Respond calmly and effectively during patient emergencies and escalating situations
• Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful communication

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
• Experience or training in acute care settings preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or able to obtain
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and meet physical demands of patient care
• Up-to-date immunizations and willingness to complete facility onboarding checks
• Clear background check and ability to meet facility credentialing requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills and comfort assisting with ADLs
• Familiarity with vital sign monitoring and basic clinical observations
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling techniques
• Good communication and teamwork skills for a fast-paced acute care unit
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
