Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and record vital signs and report meaningful changes to the nurse in charge
• Provide safe and compassionate mobility assistance, transfers, and ambulation support
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident care and observations
• Promote infection control and safety practices in all interactions
• Support resident comfort and dignity while building trusting relationships
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Active state CNA registration or ability to obtain New Mexico registration
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable with resident transfers and physical caregiving duties
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
• Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and vital sign measurement
• Skill in assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Familiarity with infection control and universal precautions
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
• Ability to document care accurately in electronic or paper records
• Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
