Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for ICU patients, monitoring and responding to rapidly changing conditions
• Perform timely assessments, implement treatment plans, and document clinical findings clearly
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Manage ventilators and advanced hemodynamic support as appropriate for ICU-level patients
• Serve as an advocate for patients and families, communicating status updates and care goals with compassion
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for RN licensure in Hawaii
• ICU experience required; comfort with critical care patient populations
• Current BLS required; ACLS and other critical care certifications preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and function well in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Completion of relevant critical care orientation or training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention
• Ventilator management and advanced life support
• Medication administration in ICU settings
• Familiarity with electronic medical record documentation
• Infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Teamwork, situational awareness, and effective communication
