Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, timely emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan
• Perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, and implement life-saving interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy safely and per protocol
• Support patient and family education during high-stress moments with clear, empathetic communication
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Hawaii or eligible for state licensure
• BLS required; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior emergency department experience preferred; new grads with strong critical care exposure considered
• Excellent clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment
• Acute care interventions and basic critical care principles
• IV insertion, medication administration, and infusion management
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Calm decision-making under pressure and strong situational awareness
