Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform rapid assessment and triage to prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and interventions safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to create and carry out effective care plans
• Monitor and document patient status, responding quickly to changes and escalating concerns
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans with clarity and empathy
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following protocols, participating in huddles, and reporting opportunities for improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS strongly recommended or required by facility
• Clinical experience in an Emergency Department preferred; new grads with strong ED clinical training may be considered
• Comfort with high-acuity patients, rapid decision making, and team-based care
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Proficiency with IV/med administration and basic procedures common in the ED
• Familiarity with EMR documentation best practices
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and multitasking under pressure
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient/family education skills
