Shift Type: 12.5-hour Med/Surg shifts; exact start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed (shift type: Med/Surg, 12.5 hours per shift)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to Med/Surg patients
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and intervene appropriately
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate discharge planning and continuity of care
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care
Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or preferred
Clinical experience or comfort working on a Med/Surg unit
Strong clinical judgment, organization, and patient advocacy skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to unit staffing needs

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid patient assessment and bedside care skills
Medication administration and IV therapy familiarity
Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Critical thinking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
