Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department
Rapidly assess, triage, and stabilize patients with diverse and acute conditions
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans
Administer medications, monitor patient status, and document care accurately and timely
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient safety, flow, and outcomes

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted RN license for the state of Louisiana or compact RN license where applicable
Experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking abilities

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of emergency nursing triage, stabilization, and trauma protocols
Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
Ability to perform and interpret common ED monitoring and point-of-care testing
Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
Calm under pressure with strong prioritization and multitasking skills
