Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the medical-surgical unit
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
Document patient status, interventions and outcomes in the electronic health record
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate as needed
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and self-care

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse license in New Hampshire or compact license as applicable
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing (experience preferred)
Strong clinical judgment, patient advocacy and communication skills
Ability to pass required background checks and credentialing

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Diploma in Nursing; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and standards of care
Medication administration and IV therapy skills
Proficient documentation skills in an electronic health record
Ability to perform patient assessments and prioritize interventions
Teamwork, effective communication and time management
