Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on Med/Surg and pediatric units
• Perform thorough assessments and document changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient status, escalating concerns promptly
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and handoffs
• Participate actively in orientation and unit-based learning to support quality care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or eligible for licensure
• Recent Med/Surg and pediatric clinical experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pediatric life support (PALS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort with pediatric patient care
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Proof of immunizations and any facility-required screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices and pediatric considerations
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Comfortable with patient assessment, documentation, and care planning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with patients, families, and staff
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in urgent situations
