Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to SDU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to create and implement patient-centered care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately
- Perform comprehensive assessments and document findings clearly and timely
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
- Escalate changes in patient status and participate in unit-based problem solving to improve outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (LA license or compact RN preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience or comfort working in a step-down/SDU environment preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and intermediate care nursing practices
- Ability to prioritize and manage a caseload in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Skilled in medication administration and documentation best practices
- Proficient in patient/family education and discharge planning
- Comfortable using electronic health record systems
