Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Monitor patient progress, document changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
Participate in orientation and ongoing training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure as required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Pediatrics experience or interest; Med/Surg experience preferred
Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and learning on the job
Strong communication and teamwork skills; patient- and family-focused approach

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles
Pediatric patient care knowledge and sensitivity to family dynamics
Medication administration and IV therapy competencies
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical documentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and support staff
Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (or willingness to learn)
