Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care to ICU patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members
• Lead and participate in patient care planning and bedside clinical decision-making
• Respond to emergencies and support resuscitation efforts as needed
• Educate patients and families about care plans, prognosis, and post-discharge needs
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii or eligibility for licensure
• Critical care/ICU nursing experience (prior ICU experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or required by facility policy
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented critical care environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in ICU-level monitoring, ventilator care, and hemodynamic assessment
• Comfortable with medication administration and critical care protocols
• Excellent communication skills for patient, family, and team interaction
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
