Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessments and triage to prioritize urgent patient needs
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the ED team to deliver timely care
• Monitor patient condition and intervene as needed during critical events
• Document patient care clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (required)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
• Prior emergency department or critical care nursing experience highly valued
• Strong clinical judgment, the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of emergency nursing assessment and triage principles
• Skill with IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Ability to manage multiple critically ill patients and respond to rapid changes
• Proficient documentation practices and attention to detail
• Team-oriented mindset and strong interpersonal skills
