Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Stabilize and manage acute conditions in the emergency setting with clinical confidence
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and timely
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members for coordinated care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses promptly and thoroughly
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based goals

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact license if applicable)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Previous emergency department (ED/ER) nursing experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills in fast-paced settings
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
• Cardiac monitoring and basic dysrhythmia recognition
• IV therapy and medication administration competency
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis management abilities
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
