Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic and CT imaging procedures independently and at a technical level not requiring direct supervision
• Operate CT and X-ray equipment safely and effectively, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety
• Prepare and administer contrast media and perform intravenous contrast injections according to protocols
• Prepare patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort
• Maintain quality control activities, enforce departmental policies and ARRT Standards of Ethics, and support Radiology service excellence
• Communicate clearly with patients and the care team to provide compassionate, patient-centered imaging services

Qualifications

• Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the California Department of Health Services (CRT) — required
• Approved CPR certification — required
• ARRT registration (or working toward ARRT) and ability to obtain Radiologic Technologist fluoroscopy permit within 6 months of hire
• Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification preferred
• Advanced CT certification preferred
• Desired experience: ~2 years in diagnostic x-ray and ~1 year in CT (preferred)

Education

• Current California Radiologic Technologist certificate (CRT) required
• Approved CPR certification required
• ARRT certification and advanced CT certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and specialized CT techniques
• Strong patient care and positioning skills to ensure safety and image quality
• Understanding of radiographic exposure principles, quality assurance, radiation physics, radiation protection, and radiobiology
• Experience with CT equipment operation, contrast media administration, and venipuncture
• Good communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
